The Harms of Dependency

No one is born on their own. All babies rely on their mothers’ strength to enter this world.

But you may die on your own. By nature or choice, you don’t need someone else’s help.

No one can succeed on their own. Even Einstein’s genius needed molding.

But you may fail on your own. The world will turn a blind eye.

And yet drinking too much coffee prevents you from waking up.

Too much social media makes you less social.

Excessive guidance takes away autonomy.

Overflowing love drowns you as you helplessly wait for the loving hand.

Perhaps we need a balance between what we see, what we saw, and what we will see.

Maybe there’s a reason why there’s a seesaw in every playground.

Maybe there’s a reason why there are no longer seesaws in every playground.

Maybe there’s a reason why there are no more playgrounds.

Why aren’t there any kids at the playground?
